Grief Ceremony
This work is important to me. Over the years, I’ve worked with a variety of people and have experienced a variety of emotions with them. One session was a family grieving the loss of a loved one. The traditional closure ceremonies we partake in are an opportunity to celebrate the life of somebody and grieve the loss of somebody. But so many times the pain of losing somebody extends beyond these ceremonies.
In a beautiful home setting, the immediate family gathered with heavy hearts and items of comfort. They sat in stillness, listened to the sounds of the bowls, and felt into their hearts. This was a time for reflection, meditation, and prayer. This was an opportunity for each individual to connect with themselves, with their spiritual practice, with their passed loved one, and with eachother in the physical space. Tears were shed. Emotions were felt.
This was a very moving experience. It was quite an honor to be invited into this space and to be trusted to facilitate the experience.
