About the Idiopan

The idiopan is also a big hit during my sound journeys. This is an instrument that sounds great in open spaces (like the beach), where sound can travel wide and far. I call it the cousin to the steel drum or handpan. It was first crafted in 2010 by Bret Hutchinson and modeled after the tank drum. 

These instruments come in a range of sizes and scales. The instrument can be played with rubber mallets (or your thumbs!).
